Covenant Counseling
Offering Hope Through Biblical Change

Picture
Covenant Counseling is a  "Certified Training Center" for the International Association  of Biblical Counselors (IABC). We currently have 2 certification training classes going on in our Training Center (the 1st brick building on the right as you enter the parking lot) on Sunday's at 6 pm and Tuesday's at 6:30 pm. If you would like to know more about biblical counseling please feel free to sit in either of our classes or contact us at 985.643.9438.
The Church also offers free Biblical Counseling to everyone in our community who is in need of spiritual help and guidance. Counseling is provided through the Church and by appointment only, and is conducted by Pastor Robby James who holds a certification in Biblical Counseling with the International Association of Biblical Counselors (IABC). Pastor Robby is a wonderful counselor, easy to  talk to, and discrete. Every conversation is fully confidential (unless you disclose something illegal or are involved in domestic or child abuse, such issues have to be reported to the proper authorities). There are no problems too big or small to seek counseling for, if it's important to you then it's important to us. He can meet with you in person, on the phone, or even Skype! Call 985-643.9438 or email pastorrobbyjames@covenantbaptistslidell.com.
Don't need counseling but would like to help? As a registered 501c3 you can donate with confidence! Any amount you give will help us keep the Counseling Ministry going ...Thank You!

The Hope of the Heart
Adult Sunday School Clas

Picture
Soon, our Church will begin a separate Sunday School Class operating independently from our normal Sunday School Classes. This class will be designed for people in our community who don't attend Church, may not regularly attend Church, or are just looking to learn more about the Bible. No prior knowledge of the Bible is needed to be a part of the class, and all you need to attend is your bible and a heart that wants to learn. The Hope of the Heart Adult Sunday School Class will not be a Baptist only class; it will be a class with an atmosphere designed for anyone and everyone, no matter what their religious backgrounds are, and its for those who have a desire to learn about the Bible. The Bible will be our only reference Book, Pastor Robby will be using workbooks that he develops that teach verse by verse.
Currently  he is in the process of completing a workbook for our first series of classes that will come directly from "The Epistle of Paul the apostle to Philemon." This small epistle is the 18th Book in the New Testament, it consists of 25 verses and 430 words, and is filled with wonderful instructions, biblical applications, examples of forgiveness, restoration, love, and confidence between brethren. In it we see examples of Christian hospitality, and it so wonderfully demonstrates the real life bonds that can be developed between individuals ... Truly it is an epistle relevant to our day!
The class will be held in our Fellowship Hall (the 1st building on the right as you drive onto the Church's property), and will begin at 9:30 am.
We picked this time to have the class in case someone who wants to attend has children, if that's your case, then paralleling the Hope of the Heart Adult Class we have separate Sunday School classes going on for all ages, so your children will have a safe place to learn too. Since the class will be taught by the pastor of the Church we will need to conclude at 10:15 because our Morning Service begins at 10:30, but I will give everyone who comes my card with our Church's phone number on it, and if you have any questions that you need to ask during the week please feel free to call and ask!

May I take this opportunity to talk to some of my brothers and sisters in Christ who have been out of Church because the Church they loved, they worshiped in, they served in, and they gave to, hurt their hearts deeply. I know how hard this can be, my wife and I  have been hurt by several Churches we were faithful in. But I believe that you, just like us, still have a desire to be around like-minded Christians who you can love and will love you back! Maybe this class will be a good first step in Christian restoration for you. If so, this paragraph was written specifically for you! Please consider coming when the class starts. Come and sit to learn and grow, and work toward becoming a part of a loving Christ centered local Church once again!
Absolutely no one will be required or pressured to come to our 10:30 Morning Service while participating in the "Hope of the Heart Adult Sunday School Class," but if you ever decide you would like to visit us we would love for you to come and worship with us.
We hope that you will come to the class dressed comfortable and casual, we are interested in helping you to grow spiritually, there are no financial obligations associated with the class, we won't be taking up any types of offerings, the workbooks will be free, our heart-felt desire is that you will either come to know and understand the God of the Bible, His teachings, and what He has done for us through His Son the Lord Jesus Christ, or that our Lord would graciously restore you to a place and possibly a position within His local Church!
If you have the time would you please visit our Hope of the Heart Facebook Page.  - Sincerely, Senior Pastor Robby James and the Membership of Covenant Baptist Church.

Local Outreaches

Picture
We try to take regular "field trips" as a local Church with the intentions of sharing the good news of the Gospel by handing out biblical tracts and enjoying the time we get to spend together as a family in Christ. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to see photos of our outreaches.

Men's Meetings

Picture
Robert Robinson is the leader of our Men's Ministry, he has a heart for God and people. The 1st Sunday of every month our men meet in the Fellowship Hall for a Men's Breakfast, it's a time of Fellowship, Prayer, and Devotion before our Morning Service where our Men prepare their hearts for Worship. We also discuss future activities that we can do together as a group of men whose desire is to serve God by serving others ... I hope you will plan to join us!
